Bio
Dr. Karyn Hood is a registered Clinical Psychologist who obtained her PhD in counselling psychology from the University of Toronto. She completed her clinical training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and University of Toronto. 

In 2006 she was appointed Director of Psychology at Cleveland Clinic Canada, a pioneering integrative health care facility in Toronto. Here she developed a comprehensive psychology program with specialty programs in executive health, stress/anxiety management, women’s health, cardiac prevention, and weight and lifestyle management. 

Dr. Hood is an experienced clinician with extensive experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety and has been providing psychotherapy to adults and groups for over 10 years.  Dr. Hood has worked with clients with stress and anxiety, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, weight/health issues, and adjustment issues.

Dr. Hood is also currently the Director of Psychology for Newtopia, an integrative weight and lifestyle management company. In this capacity she has developed behaviour modification programs for emotional well-being and weight/lifestyle management. www.newtopia.com

She has delivered a number of talks and professional workshops, and has been published in peer reviewed journals. She is also a regular contributor to magazines and has done a number of TV interviews related to emotional health and well-being. Her research interests include vulnerability and resilience in depression, anxiety and stress. Dr. Hood is a licensed member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), and a member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and Association for Behaviour and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
